The Perth Mint Centenary Sovereign was issued in 1999 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Mint. The design on the reverse of the centerpiece of the coin is Benedetto Pistrucci's St George Slaying the Dragon - the same design that was used on all Perth Mint sovereigns that had been struck there previously.

Issued with a 'P100' Mintmark to mark the centenary, the coin was struck in 22 carat Gold and with a pure silver outer ring. With a worldwide edition limit of only 7,500, it sold out rapidly.

This sell out has since resulted in increased demand for this rare coin from collectors the world over and has ensured that the Australian Sovereigns minted since have remained extremely popular.

NOTE: This listing is for the coin in the wooden case.  There is no outer box or certificate with this coin.
