The States of Jersey issued Jersey Pound banknotes in 6 different denominations, including this 1 Jersey Pound banknote (Battle of Jersey).

They are part of the withdrawn Jersey Pound banknotes series. The States of Jersey started issuing these 1 Jersey Pound banknotes in 1976. They were withdrawn from circulation in 1989.

Front of the note - portrait of young Queen Elizabeth II; Coat of Arms of Jersey; Buttercups.

Back of the note - Battle of Jersey; depicting the death of Major Francis Peirson in the Battle of Jersey on 6th January 1781. Watermark: Jersey cow's head.

Signatory: Leslie May (1983-1993) - Treasurer of the States.
