This coin was produced by the United States Mint to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the birth of Dwight D. Eisenhower, 34th President of the United States.

The obverse design of the 1990 Eisenhower Centennial features Eisenhower profiles - 5-Star General and 34th President. The reverse design features the Eisenhower home at Gettysburg National Historic Site.

The 1990 Olympic Silver Proof Dollar was struck at the Philadelphia Mint.
