The Bill of Rights serves as a prevailing reminder of the freedoms all Americans enjoy. In 1993 Congress authorised the US Mint to create the Bill of Rights Commemorative Proof Silver Dollar to commemorate the ratification of the Bill of Rights, and their principle author James Madison.

The silver dollar, minted in 90% silver and containing 0.7734 Troy oz of silver, has a diameter of 38.1mm and a weight of 26.73 grams.

The obverse was designed by William Krawczewicz and features a detailed portrait of James Madison. The reverse, by Dean McMullen, depicts Madison’s home in Virginia, Montpelier. Interestingly, the 1993 Bill of Rights Commemorative Silver Dollar has no references to the Bill of Rights, only Madison.

Minted in 1993 by the US Mint, this coin comes encapsulated.  This coin is proof quality, which means it meets the finest standards in the industry for both beauty and craftsmanship, carefully designed to represent the best possible versions of the original model.
