2019 Silver Lunar YEAR OF THE PIG TYPESET COLLECTION

In 2019, we celebrate the final animal in the 12-year cycle of the Chinese zodiac, the social, inquisitive and highly intelligent pig. Easy-going, sincere and calm under pressure are character traits said to be present in people born under the sign of the pig in 1947, 1959, 1971, 1983, 1995, 2007 and 2019.

Proof, Gilded, Bullion and Coloured Finishes - The reverse of each coin depicts a superb representation of a domesticated pig with four gorgeous little piglets amid stylised foliage. The Chinese character for ‘pig’ and the inscription ‘Year of the Pig’ also appear in the design with The Perth Mint’s traditional ‘P’ mintmark.

The delicately frosted design on the silver proof coin appears on an immaculately polished table. The shiny design on the bullion coin appears on a frosted table. The pig is highlighted in 24 carat gold on the gilded edition. The meticulously coloured edition depicts the pig her piglets in a delicate pink with black markings.

Extremely Limited Issue - The Perth Mint will release no more than 1,500 of the 2019 Year of the Pig 1oz Silver Typeset from the following maximum mintages: 8,500 (proof), 300,000 (bullion), 50,000 (gilded) and 170,000 (coloured).

The typeset is housed in a classic black and red presentation case and illustrated shipper and is accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
