The fifth and final coin in this adorable new series features two Lynx cubs.
The lynx is a solitary cat endemic to the remote northern forests of North America, Europe and Asia. This unusual looking feline has a short, stubby tail, and tufts of black hair on its ears, and is covered with thick fur to keep it warm during the freezing winters.
Each coin is struck by The Perth Mint from 1/2oz of 99.9% pure silver in proof quality.
The coins reverse features two colored lynx cubs in the Canadian Rocky Mountains. The inscription CUBS and The Perth Mint’s "P" mintmark also appear in the design.
Issued as legal tender under the authority of the Government of Tuvalu, the coin features the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the 2016 year-date, and the monetary denomination, on its obverse.
The Perth Mint will release no more than 5,000 of The Cubs – Lynx Cubs 2016 1/2oz Silver Proof Coin.
The coin is presented in a classic display case within an illustrated shipper and is accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
