To commemorate the thirteenth Commonwealth Games, held in Edingburgh, Scotland in 1986, the Royal Mint was authorised to strike Two Pound coins.  They will be the first ever United Kingdom commemorative coins issued to mark a sporting event.

On offer is a superb United Kingdom Silver Proof £2 coin struck in .925 Sterling Silver and issued by the Royal Mint. The coin was struck to commemorate the 1986 Commonwealth Games, which was hosted by the UK that year.

The coin is absolutely beautiful and housed in the original Royal Mint Blue case and the coin is encapsulated to keep it’s Proof quality, with the Certificate of Authenticity.
