PROOF COIN SET ISSUED BY THE NEW ZEALAND TREASURY - STRUCK BY THE CANADIAN MINT

One Dollar ($1) - Diameter 38.735mm - 0.925 Silver

The obverse shows the effigy of Her Majesty the Queen drawn by Arnold Machin, with the words "Elizabeth II Queen of New Zealand EIIR Coronation 2 June 1953", commemorating the 25th anniversary of Her Majesty's Coronation.  The reverse shows the east view of the "Beehive", the new executive wing of the Parliament Buildings, Wellington, with the main steps of the present House of Representatives building to the right.  The border pattern is repeated 125 times, representating the continuous years of Representive Government in New Zealand since 1854.

Fifty Cents (50c) - Diameter 31.750mm - Cupro-Nickel

Edge has 5 equally spaced 6.350mm segments separated by graining.  This coin shows the bark "Endeavour" sailing down the west coast of the North island of New Zealand.

Twenty Cents (20c) - Diameter 28.575mm - Cupro-Nickel (grained edge)

A kiwi, facing right, with fronds of a New Zealand tree fern in lower relief background.

Ten Cents (10c) - Diameter 23.662mm - Cupro-Nikel (grained edge)

A maori carved head under the figure 10 with Maori rafter pattern around.

Five Cents (5c) - Diameter 19.431mm - Cupro-Nickel (grained edge)

A tuatara curled up on a coastal rock which is superimposed the figure 5.

Two Cents (2c) - Diameter 21.082 - Bronze (plain edge)

Two golden kowhai blossoms and leaves around the figure 2.

One Cent (1c) - Diameter 17.526mm - Bronze (plain edge)

A small fern leaf enclosing the figure 1.

The coins are encapsulated in a perspex presentation case and housed in the original packaging, with Information Booklet.
