This beautifully designed 5 Yuan coin was issued by the government of the People's Republic of China.

In 1974, an underground chamber containing thousands of life-size clay soldiers and horses was uncovered in the Shaanxi province of China.  Over the next three years, further digging under archaeological supervision revealed three more chambers containing the clay statues.  Modelled more than 2,000 years ago, the statues had stood guard over the grave of the "First Emperor" of the Qin Dynasty, Qin Shi Huang.  Each figure had been modelled individually, the head, limbs and bodies made separately and then joined with strips of clay.
