The 300th anniversary of one of the most significant episodes in British history has been marked by the issue of a special commemorative £2 coin.

Two versions of the coin were struck, one with a reverse design honouring the tercentenary of the Bill of Rights, and the other, the tercentenary of the Claim of Right in Scotland.  Both were designed by John Lobban, and depict the cypher of William and Mary, the House of Commons mace, and stylised representations of SSt Edward's Crown and the Crown of Scotland, respectively.

The Claim of Right £2 coin has been struck by the Royal Mint craftsmen..

The obverse, common to both coins, features Raphael Maklouf's portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II with the denominational value below.
