The design by John Mills marks the 50th anniversary of the D-Day landings and shows ships and planes destined for the French coastline.
The D-Day landings at Normandy were the largest seaborne invasion in history. With close to 5,000 landing and assault craft, 277 minesweeper and 289 escort vessels participating. A staggering 160,000 troops made the English Channel crossing on D-Day, with around 875,000 men disembarking by the end of June 1944.
