The year 2003 is the 100th anniversary of the formation by Emmeline Pankhurst of the Women’s Social and Political Union, the militant wing of the women’s suffrage movement. It eventually achieved complete success in 1928 when all women received the right to vote.
The reverse of the 2003 50p celebrates the one hundredth anniversary of the Women’s Social and Political Union, designed by Mary Milner Dickens.
The obverse features portrait of the Queen designed by Ian Rank-Broadley.
The 50p coin is in a presentation folder and is of uncirculated quality and has been carefully handled to avoid damage.
