Alice's Adventures in Wonderland 50p Coin Collection
Over 150 years ago the story of "Alice" first came to life as author Lewis Carroll narrated his tale of nonsense to his very frist listener, 10 year-old Alice Liddell, which he improvised as he went along. Alice begged him to write the tale down and the result was Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. In 1871, exactly 150 years ago, Carroll wrote the sequel Through the Looking Glass and What Alice Found There, to the delight of millions of readers and Alice fans.
To celebrate this magical anniversary a five-coin set has been issued. Your collection of fifty pence coins features five characters from Alice's adventures:
- The Cheshire Cat
- The Mad Hatter
- The Queen of Hearts
- The White Rabbit
The coins have been struck to a superior Brilliant Uncirculated finish so are guaranteed not to have the marks and scratches seen on standard circulation coins.
All five coins are housed in a colourful presentation pack and importantly, this is one of the only way you can own all five coins as a complete set.
