To celebrate the 250th Anniversary of the founding of The Royal Academy of Arts, The Royal Academy (RA) and The Royal Mint have collaborated to issue a brand new 2018 £5 coin.
This version has been struck to base metal specifications and has a mintage of just 12,000, this is one of the rarest base metal UK £5 coin produced.
The reverse of this £5 coin has been designed by celebrated architect Sir David Chipperfield RA, and features the mid-19th century facade of Burlington House, home to the Royal Academy since 1867.
Struck by the Royal Mint to an unblemished Brilliant Uncirculated finish, this £5 coin has been protectively encapsulated and features a security hologram to certify its superior quality.
