Produced by The Westminster Collection Limited, this 7 pre-decimal coin collection is presented in a colour folder alongside photographs of various images from the 1940's, 50's and 60's and a brief summary of each coin.
The folder is protected in a colour sleeve.
Half Crown – design – a shield of the Royal Arms.
Two Shillings (Florin) – design – a double rose, within a circlet of radiating thistles, shamrocks and leeks.
One Shilling – design – two reverse designs were in circulation, one for England and the other for Scotland, which shows the English and Scottish quartering of the shield of the Royal Arms.
Sixpence – design – a rose, a thistle, a shamrock and a leek.
Three pence – design – a coroneted portcullis, originally a badge of King Henry VIII.
Penny – design – a Britannia symbolising Britain’s naval power.
Halfpenny – design – inspired by Sir Francis Drake’s “Golden Hind”
