Beautifully struck by The Perth Mint from 1oz of 99.99% pure silver, each coin is issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965. No more than 47,500 of the 2018 Year Of The Dog Lunar 1oz Silver Gilded Edition will be released worldwide.
The design features a German shepherd dog, gilded in 24 carat gold, and a pup lying in grass with Chinese peony flowers in the background. The Chinese character for ‘dog’ and the inscription ‘Year of the Dog’ also appear in the design with The Perth Mint’s traditional ‘P’ mintmark. The obverse of each coin depicts the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the 2018 year-date and the monetary denomination.
Each coin is housed in a classic black and red display case and themed shipper, and is accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
