CATS AND DOGS COIN FIRST DAY COVER

2000 sees the release of the Scottish Fold Kitten crown as a stunning addition to the popular Isle of Man Manx Cat series. This collection has become one of the most successful coin series in the world, delighting coin collectors and cat lovers alike.

Approved by Buckingham Palace, the obverse of this crown bears a fine effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, Lord of Mann. The reverse depicts a beautiful portrait of the handsome Scottish Fold Kitten playing with a globe, which symbolises the dawning of the new Millennium.

The first cat of the type appeared in a litter in Scotland in 1961. Her name was Susie and all of today's Scottish Folds are her descendants. The breed comes in two types, folded ear (as picture on the coin) and straight ear. The folded ears give the impression of a teddy bear and are the feature that has made the cat one of the most popular breeds in the United States.

The coin cover is beautifully illustrated and is individually numbered.  As we have several of the covers in stock, the serial number may vary from the item shown.

With five stunning stamps featuring cats, and a 1 crown coin issued by the Isle of Man;  Postmark Battersea, London, SW8, 13th February 2001 and 6 adorable paw prints.
