A historic release – the first time that the Royal Mint has produced a strike on the day 50p coin, which was officially approved by Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II.

With a stunning nostalgic design created by Royal Mint Graphic Designer Dominique Evans, this beautiful coin is struck in 22 carat gold and finished to the finest proof standard.  The coin features selected frosting, which enhances the details within the design and is an unique way to mark 50 years since this important moment in the nation’s coinage.

The coin comes with a Certificate, which has been signed to confirm the date the coin was struck and is presented in the original Royal Mint presentation case.  A booklet is also included which reveals how the decimal coins were created and the inspiration behind the new commemorative 50p coin.
