2013 1oz Silver Proof Locket Coin - TREASURES OF THE WORLD

Following on from the highly successful Treasures of Australia locket series, Treasures of the World will showcase an abundance of natural riches found across the globe.

The first release in this stunning annual program features loose garnet encased in a transparent locket.

Garnets are extremely fascinating gemstones. Found in certain parts of Europe, they are classically red in colour and are believed to symbolise passion, fidelity, loyalty, faith and truth.

The Treasures of the World - Europe Locket Coin with Garnet is struck from 1oz of 99.9% pure silver in proof quality.

The coin incorporates a transparent circular locket containing loose red garnets. The locket is surrounded with a reverse design representing a European Alpine landscape, featuring a chalet and Milk Vetch leaves. The reverse also incorporates The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark and the inscriptions TREASURES OF THE WORLD and GARNET.

Issued as Australian legal tender, the coin’s obverse depicts the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the year-date and the monetary denomination.

This stunning coin is accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity and is housed in a prestigious display case with a timber lid and illustrated shipper.
