1984 Silver Proof PIEDFORT £1

On offer is a superb silver proof piedfort 1984 One Pound Coin as issued by the Royal Mint.

1984 witnesses the introduction of the first of a series of new reverse designs for the one pound coin.  The designs, to be be issued annually over the next four years, will represent England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

The obverse design for 1984 was the Scottish Thistle Design (see Photo) and with the coin being Piedfort is much thicker. Housed in the original box and complete with certificate of authenticity.
