2018 Silver Proof Ten Pence - The Great British Coin Hunt - U

In 2018 The Royal Mint released 26 commemorative 10p coin designs. Their theme is the A to Z of Britain and each coin combines a letter of the alphabet with an aspect of quintessential Britishness.

This is the first time The Royal Mint has produced a series of commemorative 10p coins and each 10p coin has been struck in .925 Sterling Silver to a Proof finish.

U is for Union Flag  - This 10p features the letter U, which sits on a picture of the national flag of the United Kingdom and its symbol of unity.

An iconic piece of Britain, the iconic Union Flag, often known as the Union Jack, is the national flag of the United Kingdom.

Symbolising the union of countries which make up the United Kingdom, the flag combines the three national flags of England, Scotland and Ireland. The red cross of St George, the white saltire on St Andrew and the red saltire of St Patrick, came together in 1801 to create the iconic Union Flag we see today.

The coin is protectively encapsulated in a Perspex presentation block and housed in the original Royal Mint outer case.
