The reverse designed by Bradley Morgan Johnson was inspired by the icon's connection to the sea. Having immersed himself in Britannia's legend, Bradley Morgan Johnson looked at sculptures of the icon to inform his design.  This new depiction of Britannia shows a commanding figure gripping a trident and holding the viewers' gaze as she stands above rolling waves that lead to be a burst of rays from the sun.

The obverse features the Portrait of His Majesty King Charles III by Martin Jennings..
