Since 1870, through wartime and peace, the British Red Cross has been committed to responding to the needs of the people in crisis in the United Kingdom and around the world.  Together with more than 18,000 volunteers and nearly 4,000 members of staff, today the charity looks ahead to build a world where everyone gets the help they need in a crisis.  This coin celebrates 150 years of the  transformative power of kindness and the life-changing impact that the British Red Cross continues to make to those in crisis across the UK and overseas.

This is the first time the Brtiish Red Cross has been commemorated on a UK coin, with the coin presented in fold-out packaging that tells the story of the British Red Cross.  The coin has a beautiful colour-printed reverse featuring the iconic Red Cross emblem.
