The Celebration of Britain £5 coin has been struck by the Royal Mint specifically in celebration of our great nation as we count down to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games while at the same time paying homage to the heritage of Britain and its people.
 
Designer Shane Greeves worked closely with the Royal Mint Engraving Team to produce this special coin that combines a stirring quote with a symbolic  image to encapsulate the emotion, the wonders and greatness of Britian and the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.  Buckingham Palace symbolises democracy and the key role in Britain has played through in bringing democracy to the world.
 
Struck in cupro-nickel to Proof quality, this £5 UK legal tender coin serves as an official product of London 2012 and features the London 2012 logo in colour, whilst the obverse carries  the Queen's portrait by British sculptor Ian Rank-Broadley FRBS.

The five pound coin is in an original presentation folder and is of uncirculated quality and has been carefully handled to avoid damage.  One of three sets issued.
