2022 1oz Silver KOOKABURRA

The Australian Silver Kookaburra series from the Perth Mint began in 1990 and is the longest-running bullion program from the mint. Each year has a differing design of a Kookaburra on the reverse. This bird species is indigenous to Australia and is known for their call, which is said to sound like echoing human laughter. 
 
A laughing Kookaburra, the largest member of the Kingfisher species, is synonymous with the Australian outback. These coins have a mintage of 500,000 coins and are made of .999 fine Silver.

Reverse: depicts a kookaburra perched on an ornamental bird bath among Agapanthus, flowering plants regularly seen in Australian gardens. Also included in the design is the inscription ‘AUSTRALIAN KOOKABURRA,’ The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mint mark, the 2022 year-date, as well as the weight and purity. Each coin’s reverse includes a security feature in the coin's design, which is only detectable under a magnifying glass.
 
Obverse: Bears the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
