In 2025, HMS Victory proudly marks its 260th anniversary - a testament to its enduring legacy as the world's oldest commissioned warship. Launched on 7^th May, 1765. This iconic first-rate ship of the line was designed by Sir Thomas Slade and constructed at Chatham Dockyard, utilizing over 2,000 oak trees. Serving as Vice-Admiral Lord Nelson's flagship during the pivotal Battle of Trafalgar in 1805, HMS Victory played a crucial role in securing British naval supremacy.
