The National Commerical Bank of Scotland Limited was formed in 1959 as the result of a merger between The Commercial Bank of Scotland Ltd and the National Bank of Scotland Ltd. It was the largest bank in Scotland at that time. Its lifespan however was limited as in 1970 it merged with the Royal Bank of Scotland to form the Royal Bank of Scotland Limited.
