The second United States Mint America the Beautiful Quarters Program coin issued in 2015 is the 2015 Kisatchie National Forest Quarter.  It is the 27th coin in the program which debuted in 2010 and runs through 2021.

Designated in 1930 by President Herbert Hoover, Kisatchie National Forest of Louisiana contains over 600,000 acres of old growth pine and bald cypress groves.  With a headquarters in Pineville, Louisiana, the forest boasts dozens of recreational sites along with over 100 miles of trails for hiking, biking, horseback riding, etc.  Visitors are also able to enjoy activies like camping, swimming, hunting and event All Terrain Vehicle (ATV) riding within the park boundaries.

Included in the forest are five separate districts - Calcasieu, Caney, Catahoula, Kisatchie and Winn with land located in seven different parishes of the state.  The name Kisatchie is derived from a tribe of Kichai Indians of the Caddoan Confederacy.  It was established as a national site in 1936.

This design features a wild turkey in flight over blue stem grass with long leaf pine in the background.  Inscriptions are "KISATCHIE", "LOUISIANA", "2015" and "E PLURIBUS UNUM".
