1982 George Washington 250th Anniversary Silver Proof Half $

The George Washington 250th Anniversary Silver Proof Half Dollar was released in 1982 to commemorate the 250th anniversary of George Washington’s birth.  This is the first United States 90% silver coin to be minted since 1964 and the first commemorative coin to be produced by the United States Mints since 1954.

The obverse design features George Washington astride a horse.

The reverse features Mt. Vernon.
