2017 $20 Silver Proof Coin - A Platinum Celebration

To commemorate the 70th wedding anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and His Royal Highness Prince Philip, Duke of Edingburgh, the reverse design by Canadian artist Derek Wicks features selective colour over the Royal Cypher (EP), St. Edward's Crown, and the garter sash. 

The lustre colour-emhanced frame is inspired by Her Majesty's platinum bracelet - a gift from His Royal Highness on their wedding day.  The obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt.

This $20 coin is 99.99% pure silver, with a diameter of 39 millimetres and a nominal metal weight of 31.39 grams.

A Certificate attests that the 2017 $20 fine silver coin is proof quality and is authorised by the Government of Canada.  The coin has been expertly struck by the Royal Canadian Mint and has a limited mintage worldwide of only 7,500.
