The Royal Canadian Mint is proud to present the 1993 proof set of Canadian coinage.
This is the only set available which contains both the 1993 commemorative silver dollar and the aureate dollar. The set also includes 50 cents, 25 cents, 10 cents, 5 cents and 1 cent – a total of 7 coins.
The commemorative silver dollar marks the 100th anniversary of the launching of the Stanley Cup, the oldest sports trophy competed for by professional athletes in North America. The Cup was donated by Governor General Lord Stanley in 1893 and soon became an integral part of hockey’s heritage. The design on the reverse of the coin, by Canadian artist Stewart Sherwood, portrays the Stanley Cup as it evolved from the early days of hockey to the present time.
The set is presented in a black box with a burgundy satin interior and is accompanied with a Royal Canadian Mint information card and black beauty box.
