The Royal Canadian Mint is proud to present the 1990 proof set of Canadian coinage. This is the only set available which contains both the 1990 silver and aureate dollars. The set also includes 50 cents, 25 cents, 10 cents, 5 cents and 1 cent – a total of 7 coins.
The silver dollar marks the 300th anniversary of Henry Kelsey’s exploration of the Canadian Prairie’s. The reverse depicts a group of Western Natives showing Kelsey a vast herd of buffaloes, the first such documented sighting by a white man, All coins bear Canada’s new effigy of the Queen Elizabeth II as designed by Canadian artist Dora de Pedery-Hunt
The set is presented in a black box with a burgundy satin interior and is accompanied with a Royal Canadian Mint information card and black beauty box.
