In 2007, to celebrate the Life of King Henry VIII and Queen Elizabeth I, the Royal Mint produced on behalf of Alderney a limited Issue £5 Five Pound Silver Proof 2 Coin Set struck in solid .925 Sterling Silver plated in 24 Carat Gold.

The reverse of the first coin depicts a portrait of King Henry VIII and the second a portrait of Queen Elizabeth I; the obverse has the portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II designed by Ian Rank-Broadley.

These legal tender coins have been struck to proof quality using specially prepared dies and highly polished blanks.
