One Dollar ($1) - Diameter 38.735mm - 0.925 Silver
The obverse shows the effigy of Her Majesty the Queen drawn by James Berry, with the words "Elizabeth II Queen of New Zealand", separated from the date by two florets. The reverse bears the Ensigns Armorial of New Zealand on their sheils surmounted by the Royal Crown, surrounded by two fern fronds with the words "one dollar" underneath the shield. There is a wave pattern around the periphery of the coin and the edge is grained.
Fifty Cents (50c) - Diameter 31.750mm - Cupro-Nickel
Edge has 5 equally spaced 6.350mm segments separated by graining. This coin shows the bark "Endeavour" sailing down the west coast of the North island of New Zealand.
Twenty Cents (20c) - Diameter 28.575mm - Cupro-Nickel (grained edge)
A kiwi, facing right, with fronds of a New Zealand tree fern in lower relief background.
Ten Cents (10c) - Diameter 23.662mm - Cupro-Nikel (grained edge)
A maori carved head under the figure 10 with Maori rafter pattern around.
