The 1991-1995 World War II Silver Dollar was issued in 1993 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of America’s involvement in World War II from 1941 to 1945.

The obverse of the silver dollar features an American soldier on the shores of Normandy on June 6, 1944, known as D-Day.  The obverse inscriptions read “D-Day June 6, 1944”, “In God We Trust”, “Liberty”, and the dual date “1991” and “1995”.

The reverse inscriptions include “United States of America”, “E Pluribus Unum”, the denomination “One Dollar” and the quote “I have full confidence in your courage, devotion to duty and skill in battle. We will accept nothing less than full victory!”

The obverse and reverse were both designed by Thomas D. Rodgers Sr.

The 1993 World War II Silver Dollar was struck at the Denver Mint and is encapsulated.
