1985 £1 Coin - Welsh Leek

This coin, the second in the series, features the National Emblem of Wales - the Leek.  The first coin, representing Scotland, was issued in 1984, while in 1986 and 1987 one pound coins were issued bearing designs for Northern Ireland and England.

The obverse carries the new effigy of Her Majesty The Queen by the sculptor Raphael Maklouf.
