2016 50p - Squirrel Nutkin

This 50p coin has been issued by the United Kingdom to celebrate one of Beatrix Potter's much loved children's tales, 'The tale of Squirrel Nutkin’.

Struck by The Royal Mint, this coin is the fifth in the popular 5-coin series celebrating the 150th Anniversary of the birth of Beatrix Potter.

It is also the first and only official UK coin to feature Beatrix Potter's rebellious character, Squirrel Nutkin. The obverse features the fifth definitive portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Jody Clark.
