2020 £5 BU Coin Pack – Elton John - Rocket Man

The Icon behind some of the most popular songs ever recorded, Elton John is a musician, perfomer, campaigner, knight and father.  This coin celebrates one of pop music's all-time greats.

This Royal Mint coin is the second release in the Music Legends series, which celebrates British musicians who revolutionised and dominated the world of music. The series began in early 2020 with the release of the coins commemorating the rock band Queen, followed shortly by the Sir Elton John collection.

Sir Elton is one of the best selling artists of all time, selling over 300 million records worldwide, with his outlandish dress sense and passion for rock 'n roll propelling him from pub pianist to global sensation.

A double quaver music note cleverly doubles up as a pair of glasses underneath his boater hat, with the text 'ELTON JOHN' and a cute bowtie underneath. On the coin's obverse is the traditional fifth coinage portrait of The Queen as designed by Jody Clark.

This coin is housed in a protective capsule and is fitted into a limited edition slipcase
