1998 Silver Proof PIEDFORT £2 - Bi-Colour

A very desirable silver proof PIEDFORT £2 issued by the Royal Mint in 1998. The Bi-metalic coin is Silver with the outer circle being coated in gold plate. The reverse pattern represents four ages from in concentric circles, from the Iron age; 18th century; to the industrial development and then the silicon chip and internet age

The edge inscription reads: STANDING ON THE SHOULDERS OF GIANTS.

Only 10,000 PIEDFORT coins were issued for worldwide distribution. Encapsulated and housed in the original Royal Mint box with the Certificate of Authenticity.
