1995 Silver Proof £1

The 1995 one pound, the second in a series representing the four constituent parts of the United Kingdrom, honours Wales and bears on its reverse the famous Welsh dragon.  The heraldic dragon passant with wings elevated, just as it appears on the badge and flag of Wales, has been modelled by Norman Sillman from a drawing by the College of Arms.

Like its counterparts of 1985 and 1990 the obverse bears Raphael Maklouf's exquisite portrait of Her Majesty the Queen and carries the edge inscription PLEIDIOL WYF I'M GWLAD, taken from the Welsh national anthem and meaning "true am I to my country".

Specifications

This one pound coin, weighing 9.50 grammes and measuring 22.50 millimetres in diameter, has been struck to the highest Proof quality in sterling (.925) silver.  Only 40,000 of these superb one pound coins are available for worldwide distribution.

The 1995 Silver Proof One Pound Coin is encapsulated and housed in the original box and complete with certificate of authenticity.
