COMMEMORATIVE COIN PROGRAM (1908-2001)

A joint release from the Perth Mint and Royal Australian Mint celebrating the life of Sir Donald Bradman, Australia’s greatest cricketing hero.  His legendary achievements on the sports field still stand far ahead of those of the many champions since, and his integrity and grace off the field have likewise seldom been matched.

Honouring both Sir Donald’s historic sporting achievements and his lasting contribution to Australian culture and values, the coins are minted and inspected by The Perth Mint and are issued in association with the Royal Australian Mint and the Bradman Foundation.

Struck from 1oz of 99.9% pure silver to a high quality proof finish. Issued as legal tender with a face value of Five Dollars, the coin features the classic image of Bradman playing his cover drive within a border incorporating the inscription ‘1908 Sir Donald Bradman 2001’.

The coin is housed in a dark green leatherette presentation case and box shipper, accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
