1996 $2 Silver Proof Bi-Metallic Coin - Polar Bear

Designed to replace the $2 bank note, the new bi-metallic $2 coin was officially launched on 19^th February 1996. 

The reverse of the coin, by Canadian wildlife artist Brent Townsend, features the majestic polar bear roaming in his high arctic habitat in perfect harmony with a land of harsh beauty and eternal snow. 

The coin comes encapsulated, housed in its blue velvet original box, and accompanied by a certificate and decorated beauty box.
