2017 Kiwi Silver Coin - Rakiura Tokoeka - Blister Pack

Tokoeka are thought to be the ancestral type of brown-coloured Kiwi.  Three distinctive forms exist, and this silver specimen coin features the Rakiura Tokoeka.

As with other Kiwi species, Tokoeka usually have just one mate, and mate for life.  If the bird's partners dies a bird will re-pair.  Rakiura Tokoeka differ from most other Kiwi species because they can live in large family groups, with an alpha male and female.

The coin is housed in a protective capsule and mounted on a presentation card to keep it’s proof like quality.

This beautiful coin contains 1oz of .999 fine Silver and is presented in a display card.  The obverse displays the portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, New Zealand and the 2017 year date.  The Reverse features a Rakiura Tokoeka wandering on a beach on Rakiura during the daytime.
