On the eve of the D-Day landings General Sir Bernard Montgomery addressed a message to the men under his command, men who would the next day risk, and even give, their lives for the Allied cause.  His owne words were stirring, as was his quotation from a poem by Scottish nobleman and Civil War soldier James Graham.

"Everyone must go all out.  And, as we enter battle, let us recall the words of a famous soldier, spoken many years aso: 'He either fears his fate too much, Or his deserts are small, That dares no put it to the touch, To gain or lose it all."

Struck in sterling silver, finished to Proof quality, this coin is a wonderful souvenir of the occasion and a real collectable, with just 1,944 to be struck in this limited edition presentation.
