2018 Silver Proof Ten Pence - The Great British Coin Hunt - G

In 2018 The Royal Mint released 26 commemorative 10p coin designs. Their theme is the A to Z of Britain and each coin combines a letter of the alphabet with an aspect of quintessential Britishness.

This is the first time The Royal Mint has produced a series of commemorative 10p coins and each 10p coin has been struck in .925 Sterling Silver to a Proof finish.

G is for Greenwich Mean Time - This 10p features the letter G, which celebrates Sandford Fleming's most important concept which has kept time across the globe.

Setting our watches to Greenwich Mean Time, There’s so much more to discover than the Meridian Line.  The Royal Observatory Greenwich is famous world-wide as the home of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT).

Most countries had adopted the hourly time zones by the 1930’s. Many differed within regions because of geography, distance and politics, which remains the case today, with many countries carrying different time zones between states.

The coin is protectively encapsulated in a Perspex presentation block and housed in the original Royal Mint outer case.
