2013 Christmas 1/2oz Silver Proof Coin

Modern Christmas folklore tells the story of Santa Claus and his faithful reindeer, driving his sleigh through the night on Christmas Eve, delivering gifts to good boys and girls all over the world.

The 2013 Christmas Coin celebrates the brightly decorated Christmas Tree.

Each coin is struck by The Perth Mint from 1/2oz of 99.9% pure silver in proof quality.

The coin’s reverse features a coloured Christmas tree adorned with festive decorations and of course the obligatory bright Star to crowm the top. The inscription ‘Merry Christmas’ and The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark also features in the design.

The coin is issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965 and features the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the monetary denomination, and the 2014 year-date on its obverse.

The Perth Mint will release no more than 5,000 of the 2013 Christmas 1/2oz Silver Proof Coin.

Each coin is housed in a classic presentation case and custom-designed Christmas-themed shipper, and is accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
